Purpose and Functions
The Bureau of Education and Testing (BET) is Organized pursuant to Section 455.217, Florida Statutes and Chapter 61-11, Florida Administrative Code. Its purpose is to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the public by offering reliable and valid professional licensure examinations for the boards. The Bureau administers numerous examinations, including DBPR developed and national. DBPR developed examinations are primarily provided in English but the Spanish translation is available for most of the Professions.
2011 Broker Examination update information - beginning July 1, 2011
Effective Friday July 1, candidates taking the Florida Broker examination will be using the new Broker examination content.

Construction Contractors: Trade Knowledge as well as Contract Administration and Project Management examinations are available in Spanish and the request must be made during completion of the application with the contracted vendor, Professional Testing Inc. (PTI)

How an Examination is Developed
CERTIFIED DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE (CDR)
CDR laws & rules examination will be transitioned to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation beginning October 1st, 2011. Pursuant to Section 455.2177, Florida Statutes, the Bureau is responsible for processing Continuing Education (CE) provider and course applications for the various boards and councils within the Division of Professions, as well as for the Division of Real Estate. Additionally, BET is responsible for monitoring all continuing education hours reported and posted in the department's licensure database, to ensure accuracy and all requirements for licensure renewal have been met.
