Attention Prospective Electrical Contractor Examination Candidates:
The Electrical Contractors’ Certification examinations is offered in two parts: a Technical/Safety section (100 test questions, 5 hours) and a Business section (50 test questions, 2 ½ hours). Both examinations are administered via computer at secure, proctored test locations by our current contracted vendor Pearson VUE. Each examination is open-book. The examinations are administered separately and scored independently from each other. A minimum score of 75% is needed to pass each examination part. Candidates must pass both parts in order to apply for licensure. To obtain an application to sit for the Electrical Examinations, please visit the DBPR main web page at: http://www.myfloridalicense.com/dbpr/ , then select "Apply For A License" and follow the prompts.

*Effective April 1, 2009, the Florida Contractors Manual 2009 edition will replace the 2004 edition as the reference for Florida Electrical Contractors’ examinations.
