COMPUTER TESTING WITH DBPR VENDOR:
Candidates taking a computer-based examination through Pearson VUE will be required to submit a valid email address, telephone number and pay at the time the exam is scheduled, either through Pearson VUE web site or toll free line. Candidates will not be able to pay on the date of the exam. To assist candidates without a credit card, Pearson VUE has a "voucher" system of payment; more details will be provided when they become available. Once the appropriate Board Office (DBPR) has approved a candidate’s eligibility to take an examination, the candidate’s file is sent electronically to Pearson VUE. Within 72 hours of receipt of the electronic file, Pearson VUE will email, if a valid email address is available, or mail the candidate an authorization letter. You do not have to wait for the letter to schedule your examination.

The next categories Trade Knowledge examinations projected to be moved to the computer testing platform by October 2014 are: Roofing, Underground Utilities, Sheet Metal, Gypsum, Specialty Structure, Gas Line and Pollutant Storage Contractors. The last pencil & paper administration for some of these categories will be August 2014, others June 2014.
Irrigation, Commercial Pool, Residential Pool, Service Pool and Solar Contractors examinations Trade Knowledge parts will be converted to the Computer Based format with examinations starting on March 25, 2014. Candidate can begin to schedule their examinations by March 19, 2014.
November 1, 2012 these two Construction categories Glass & Glazing and Marine Specialty Trade Knowledge examinations were moved to Computer Based Testing format (CBT).
