2008 New Federal Standards for Real Estate Appraisers
The Federal Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) adopted revisions to the Real Estate Property Appraiser Qualification Criteria that will become effective on January 1, 2008. In order to conduct federally related transactions in Florida, prospective licensees will be required to meet these new standards.
For more information regarding the new criteria, please visit www.appraisalfoundation.org Further updates will be posted on DBPR’s web site.
The Department advises Real Estate Appraiser licensees that some courses, in addition to Florida's approval, also require approval by the Appraiser Qualifications Board (AQB) and International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC). Please verify with your provider that their courses currently have all the necessary approvals.
