Architect - NCARB Certified Endorsement Applicant (AR 6)
This application is used by individuals that have the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB) certification, have passed the Architectural Registration Exam (ARE) or predecessor exam, and have a valid license to practice architecture in another state or jurisdiction of the United States. Pursuant to Section 481.213, Florida Statutes, all endorsement applicants must complete two (2) hours of board approved education on wind mitigation techniques.

NCARB COUNCIL RECORD:
Submit your National Council of Architectural
Registration Boards (NCARB) Council Record to the department. Contact NCARB to
request that your NCARB certification be posted or transmitted to Florida. The
NCARB certification must contain proof of passing the Architectural
Registration Examination (ARE) or predecessor examination. Florida does not
recognize the Mutual Recognition Agreement between NCARB and the Canadian
Architectural Licensing Authorities (CALA).
- EXAMINATION: Proof of passing the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) or predecessor examination. Florida does not accept examinations with exempted portions by means of education and/or experience OR the alternate path to the examination requirements through NCARB Handbook for Interns and Architects. Florida does not accept the Examination for Architects in Canada (ExAC).
- OUT OF STATE LICENSE: The applicant must hold a valid license to practice architecture in another state or jurisdiction of the United States.
PRE-LICENSURE
EDUCATION:
Submit certificate(s) of completion of two (2)
hours of board approved education on wind mitigation techniques.
- FEE: Pay the required fee as
provided in the application. If applying online, you can pay with a credit card
or electronic check. If mailing your application, please include a check
payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Military
veterans, their spouses and Florida National Guard members may be eligible for
a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee discount. Please visit our DBPR Military
