Certified General Appraiser - Out of State-Mutual Recognition (FREAB 12)

An Out-of-State Certified General Appraiser means a person who is a current/active certified general appraiser in a state other than Florida. A Certified General Appraiser means a person who is qualified to issue appraisal reports for any type of real property as may be authorized by federal regulation.

Application Requirements:
 
  • SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER: You must have a United States Social Security number to apply. You may visit the Social Security Administration website for information on how to obtain one.

  • PRE-APPLICATION QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold a valid high school diploma or its equivalent. Must be at least 18 years of age. Hold a current/valid Certified General Appraiser license in another state.

  • APPLICATION: Complete the application by clicking on the "Online Application" link or the "Printable Application" link at the bottom of the page. Note: A complete application shall expire one year after the date received.
  • FEE: Pay the required fee as provided in the application. Military veterans, their spouses and Florida National Guard members may be eligible for a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee discount. Please visit our DBPR Military Services page for more information.

  • FINGERPRINTS: An applicant must have a background check as part of the licensing process. You must submit your fingerprints using a Livescan Service Provider registered with FDLE immediately after submitting your application for licensure. It may take up to five days for your fingerprint results to be received by the Department after they are submitted to the Florida Department of Law enforcement (FDLE). Please note that the Florida Department of Law Enforcement requires that an application for licensure should precede the submission of your fingerprints.   • EXAMINTATION REQUIREMENTS: Must complete and pass the Florida Supplemental Exam. Note: Exam authorization shall expire one year after the date received.
  • BUSINESS NAME & Physical Address: To become active after receiving your license, please complete the appropriate section of form FREAB-RE16.
