Veterinarian - Initial License - Senior Applicants (VM 1)
This application is used by individuals that are Seniors and will graduate from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited school or university with a doctor of veterinary medicine degree this semester. Applicants must have successfully completed the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination (NAVLE) within the past five years.

- EDUCATION: Letter of enrollment and good standing from dean of veterinary school
accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) indicating
candidate is scheduled to graduate with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree
from an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) accredited school this semester. You can take the Florida exam before
graduating. NOTE: Before the license can be issued you must submit official
school transcripts showing proof of graduation and Doctor of Veterinary
Medicine degree conferred by an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA)
accredited school. Do not submit copies of transcripts.
- EXAMINATION: Passage of the North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE)
administered by the International Council for Veterinary Assessment (ICVA)
and the Florida laws and rules exam. For more information, visit the Examination Information webpage. If your
NAVLE scores were not reported to Florida, request North American Veterinary
Licensing Exam (NAVLE) scores be transferred from the American Association of
Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB).
- FEE: Pay the required fee as provided in the application. If applying
online, you can pay with a credit card or electronic check. If mailing your
application, please include a check payable to the Department of Business and
Professional Regulation. Military veterans, their spouses and Florida National
Guard members may be eligible for a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee
