Registered Elevator Company
A registered elevator company is a company authorized by the Bureau of Elevator Safety to construct, install, inspect, maintain, or repair any elevator, escalator or other vertical conveyance in Florida. Registered elevator companies must employ at least one Certified Elevator Inspector or person with a current Certificate of Competency.

CERTIFIED ELEVATOR INSPECTOR(S) OR CERTIFICATE(S) OF COMPETENCY: Registered elevator companies must name one or more Certified Elevator Inspectors or Certificate of Competency holders employed by the company responsible for signing permit applications and affidavits of code compliance and providing the required direct supervision on all work performed. PROOF OF GENERAL LIABILITY INSURANCE: Obtain general liability insurance in a minimum amount of $100,000 per person and $300,000 per occurrence. All elevator companies, elevator inspectors, and independent elevator technicians must have insurance as described above. Proof of insurance must be provided to the bureau with the application. - FEE: There is currently no fee for this application.
