Manufacturer Malt FL/Florida Imprinting Exemption

Section 563.06, Florida Statutes, directs that all taxable malt beverages packaged in individual containers possessed by any person in the state for the purpose of sale or resale in the state, except operators of railroads, sleeping cars, steamships, buses, and airplanes engaged in interstate commerce and licensed under this section, shall have imprinted thereon in clearly legible fashion by any permanent method the word "Florida" or "FL" and no other state name or abbreviation of any state name. This application provides the mechanism for manufacturers to request an exemption, as provided by statute, to the FL/FLORIDA imprinting requirement. The manufacturer must have approval from the division, prior to shipping into Florida.

  • FEE: There is no fee for requesting the FL/Florida exemption.

  • APPLICATION: Complete form ABT-6019 by clicking on "Apply Using Printable Application" at the bottom of this page (detailed instructions included). If you already have a copy of the detailed instructions, you may prefer to obtain the form without the instructions in ABT-6019 PDF or ABT-6019 Word format.

  • TRACKING SYSTEM: Provide documentation showing the existence of a tracking system, by use of code or other method that enables the manufacturer to identify with 90% reliability the following:

    • The place where the individual containers of malt beverages were produced.
    • The state in which the individual containers of malt beverages were shipped.The individual distributors within the state which received the individual containers of malt.
