Asbestos Consultant - Licensure as an Individual - Inactive (ALU 1)
This application is used to apply for licensure as an Asbestos Consultant doing business in your own individual name, not as a business.

- LICENSING/CERTIFICATION: You must provide proof of licensure or certification as Professional Engineer, Professional Architect, Professional Geologist, Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist.
TRAINING:
You must provide proof of completion of the following
Department-approved courses:
Approved Building Asbestos Survey/Mechanical Sys - Inspec (Survey and Mechanical Systems - Inspector) Initial 3 day course (24 hours) Approved Asbestos Management Planner (Initial) 2 day course (16 hours) Approved Respiratory Protection 3 day course (24 hours) Approved Project Designer Initial 3 day course (24 hours)
A list of department approved providers and courses may be found at https://www2.myfloridalicense.com/servop/testing/documents/asb_ce_prov.pdf Applicants must submit a training verification form for each provider listed.
EXPERIENCE:
Complete the Project List showing at least 10 asbestos projects
within the last 5 years and the Project Verification Forms for each project
listed on the Project List.
Asbestos
consultant applicants must demonstrate completion of 2 projects for each
of the following categories:
Category A: Surveys Category B: Operations and maintenance plans Category C: Asbestos abatement project management and supervision including air monitoring Category D: Design of asbestos abatement projects Category E: Any combination of the categories above
You must indicate on the
project list which of the required categories you are attempting to satisfy
with each job.
- EXAMINATION: You must have passed the State of Florida Asbestos Consultant examination.
PERSONAL FINANCIAL/CREDIT: Provide a credit report on the applicant from a nationally recognized credit reporting agency, which includes a public records statement that records have been checked at local, state, and federal levels. For a list of acceptable agencies visit https://www2.myfloridalicense.com/pro/cilb/documents/cilb_credit_reporting_agencies.pdf.- FEE: Pay the required fee as provided in the application. If applying online, you can pay with a credit card or electronic check. If mailing your application, please include a check payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Military veterans, their spouses and Florida National Guard members may be eligible for a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee discount. users will need to make sure their Exam Candidate ID# is linked before
proceeding.
