Barber License by Out-of-Country Endorsement (BAR 4)
A Florida barber license is required to perform all barbering services. If you hold a barber license in another country, you may be eligible for endorsement in Florida.

ENDORSEMENT:
Attempting to qualify for licensure in Florida without
having to take an examination by holding an active barbers license in another country whose requirements for licensure are
comparable or more stringent than Florida requirements of 900 educational hours
and passage of a written examination.
- AGE: Applicants for licensure by endorsement must be at least 16 years of age.
- NACES EVALUATION: Out-of-country barber endorsement applicants must obtain an education evaluation from a credential evaluation service which is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). The evaluation must be submitted with the application. For more information, please refer to the NACES website.

HIV/AIDS COURSE: The HIV/AIDS course must have been completed within two years prior to submitting an application. Note: the 4 hour course for cosmetology cannot substitute the 2 hour course for barbers. For more information, please refer to our list of board-approved Initial HIV/AIDS Courses. - FEE: Pay the required fee as
provided in the application. If applying online, you can pay with a credit card
or electronic check. If mailing your application, please include a check
payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Military
veterans, their spouses and Florida National Guard members may be eligible for
a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee discount. Please visit our DBPR Military
