Provisional Certificate - Mechanical Inspector - Non-Local Governmental Employees (BCAIB 3)
Certification is required to perform mechanical inspections. A provisional license is good for two years.
Application Requirements: |
|
- AGE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
- EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Applicants
must be employed and must be newly hired or promoted into the position for
which they are applying. A separate Work Experience form verifying employment must be completed by the building code administrator. Applicants must verify four separate years of experience for each category of licensure they are applying for on the Work Experience form. If post-secondary education is going to be used to qualify for certification, official transcripts must be included with the application.
WORK EXPERIENCE FORM:
Work experience detail provided in applications is
often too general and is missing hands-on experience. The person certifying
your experience should be specific when explaining your duties and actual
hands-on experience. In order to process your application more quickly, and not
have your application returned to you, describe work experience in detail,
including hands-on, supervisory or management responsibilities.
METHOD OF QUALIFICATION
FOR CERTIFICATION:
The experience and education submitted should
demonstrate one of the methods of qualification as set forth in Section
468.609(2)(c), Florida Statutes, or meets eligibility requirements for
certification as a residential inspector as set forth in Rule 61G19-6.017,
Florida Administrative Code.
- FEE: Pay the required fee as provided in the application. If applying online, you can pay with a credit card or electronic check. If mailing your application, please include a check payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
