Transfer existing firm license to Partnership

Application to change existing firm license to partnership or LLP. At least one general partner of the firm must hold a current active Florida CPA license in order to qualify as a CPA firm.

Application Requirements:
 
  • Section 473.3125(4), F.S., Effective January 1, 2015, a licensed firm or public accounting firm as defined in s. 473.302(7) and licensed under s. 473.3101 and engaged in the practice of public accounting as defined in s. 473.302(8)(a), except for the performance of compilations and reviews as those terms are defined by the board, must be enrolled in a peer review program.

  • INDIVIDUAL LICENSE: At least one general partner of the firm must hold a current active Florida CPA license in order to qualify as a CPA firm. However, all CPAs domiciled in Florida must hold a current active Florida license. An out-of-state CPA Firm can qualify if the Firm has no Florida domiciled owners and qualifies under Section 473.3141, F.S.

  • APPLICATION: Complete the application by clicking on the "Online Services" link or the "Printable Application" link at the bottom of the page.

  • FEES: $150 non refundable application fee (for two-year license) or $75 non refundable application fee in an odd year (such as 2007, 2009, 2011, etc.) for a one year license is required with application.

  • INSURANCE: Proof of minimum capitalization or adequate public liability insurance. Must obtain minimum capitalization, public liability insurance, an irrevocable letter of credit, in a minimum amount of $50,000 per shareholder, officer, member, or partner and any Florida licensed CPA to a maximum of $2,000,000, or a signed waiver of limitation on liability.
