Application for Registering An Appraisal Management Company (FREAB 1)

F.S. 475.611(1)(c) states in part, an Appraisal Management Company must oversee an appraiser panel of more than 15 state-certified or state-licensed appraisers in a state, or 25 or more state-certified or state-licensed appraisers in two or more states. Only appraisal management companies that meet the definition qualify for registration and reporting to the National Registry of the Appraisal Subcommittee. (i) Appraisal Panel - means a network, list, or roster of licensed or certified appraisers approved by an appraisal management company to perform appraisals as independent contractors for the appraisal management company. An appraiser is an independent contractor for purposes of this paragraph if the appraiser is treated as an independent contractor by the appraisal management company for federal income tax purposes. The term appraiser panel includes: 1. Appraisers accepted by the appraisal management company for consideration for future appraisal assignments in covered transactions or secondary mortgage market participants in connection with covered transactions. 2. Appraisers employed by, contracted with, or otherwise retained by the appraisal management company to perform one or more appraisals in covered transactions or for secondary mortgage market participants in connection with covered transactions.

The fee for this service is paid directly to the approved vendor by the applicant.
  • Background Questions: The background questions are to be completed by new authorized representatives: If you answer Yes to any of the four background questions, please complete the detail section of the form and submit the appropriate supporting documents to prevent delay in the processing of the application. If you intend to answer No due to the charge being dismissed, nolle prosse, no action, not guilty, sealed, or expunged, please be prepared to provide proof due to the fingerprint report does not always disclose the final disposition or outcome of an arrest. The background information is reviewed by the department and in some cases may require the Florida Real Estate Appraisal Board approval.
