Standard 1 and 2 Family Dwell. Plans SFP - Request SFP Exam
Certification can be obtained to perform one and two family dwelling plans examinations.
Application Requirements: |

- AGE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
REQUIREMENTS:
Applicant must hold standard certification as one and
two family dwelling inspector; must have
passed the State principles and practices examination; hold a standard
certificate as a plans examiner (any category); and hold a Southern Building
Code Congress International, Inc. (SBCCI) or International Code Council (ICC)
certification as a Coastal Construction Inspector.
WORK EXPERIENCE FORM:
Work
experience detail provided in applications is often too general and is missing
hands-on experience. The person certifying your experience should be
specific when explaining your duties and actual hands-on experience. In
order to process your application more quickly, and not have your application
returned to you, describe work experience in detail, including hands-on,
supervisory or management responsibilities.
EXAMINATION:
Applicants
do not have to take a technical examination. Applicants are required to take
the Florida principles and practice examination if their application is
approved by the Florida Building Code Administrators and Inspectors Board. For
more information regarding the Florida principles and practice examination,

Information Booklet.
ENDORSEMENT:
Endorsement
is licensure of individuals who have already taken and passed a technical
examination similar to the technical examination required in Florida. You
will be required to take and pass the Florida Principles and Practice
examination if you are approved by the board. For more information

the BCAIB P&P Examination Candidate
Information Booklet.
- FEE: Pay the required fee as provided in the application. Make check payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation. Military veterans, their spouses and Florida National Guard members may be eligible for a fee waiver, fee reimbursement, and/or fee discount.
