Modular Plans Examiner (City/County Employee) by Examination (BCAIB 1)
Certification may be obtained to perform modular plans examination.

- AGE: Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be of good moral character.
REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have three years of experience as an inspector with local government and/or state government, or three years experience as an inspector with an independent inspection/plans review agency under contract with a state agency, or three years experience as a registered or certified state general, building, or residential contractor or job superintendent, project manager or quality control manager in a supervisory capacity that included operational control and director of building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing personnel or subcontractors on residential or commercial projects. WORK EXPERIENCE FORM: Work experience detail provided in applications is often too general and is missing hands-on experience. The person certifying your experience should be specific when explaining your duties and actual hands-on experience. In order to process your application more quickly, and not have your application returned to you, describe work experience in detail, including hands-on, supervisory or management responsibilities. EXAMINATION: Applicants are required to successfully pass the modular plans examiner examination. The Florida principles and practice examination is not required for this category of licensure. - FEE: Submit $5 for government employees per category or $105 for non-government (payable to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation).
