Apply for a New Hot Dog Cart License and Plan Review at the Same Time
Florida law requires owners of new public food service and new owners of existing establishments to obtain a license from the division before operating. In addition, plan review is required when the establishment is: 1) newly built, 2) converted from another use, 3) extensively remodeled or 4) re-opened after being closed at least 1 year. The application below is for a New Hot Dog Cart License with Plan Review.

It covers the licensing process, application requirements and includes tips to ensure your application is approved quickly. Plan Review: To complete the plan review portion of this application you will need to upload digital copies of your plans and menu during the online application process. - Scaled drawing: A scaled drawing of the cart showing the all of the food service related equipment/fixtures.

Commissary Notification: A commissary is a commercial establishment which provides required services to a mobile food dispensing vehicle. All hot dog carts must use a commissary. At a minimum, the commissary provides for acquisition of potable water and the disposal of wastewater. Upload a completed Commissary Notification form with your application. The division is unable to approve your plans without it.
