A summary of the violations found during the inspection are listed below.
The department cites violations of Florida's sanitation and safety laws,
which are based on the standards of U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Food Code.
High Priority violations are those which could contribute directly to a foodborne
illness or injury and include items such as cooking, reheating, cooling and hand-washing.
Intermediate violations are those which, if not addressed, could lead to risk factors
that contribute to foodborne illness or injury. These violations include personnel training,
documentation or record keeping and labeling. Basic violations are those which are considered
best practices to implement. While most establishments correct all violations in a timely
manner (often during the inspection), the division's procedures are designed to compel
compliance with all violations through follow-up visits, administration action or closure
when necessary.
Basic - Bowl or other container with no handle used to dispense food.
Observed multiple bowls being used as scoops int he establishment.
Operator removed some. **Corrective Action Taken** **Repeat Violation**
Basic - Employee personal items stored in or above a food preparation area, food, clean equipment and utensils, or single-service items.
Observed multiple employee personal items stored over food products in the dry storage area.
Basic - Employee with no hair restraint while engaging in food preparation.
Observed the owner not wearing a hat while preparing food when I first walked in.
When he saw me he put on a hat. **Corrected On-Site** **Repeat Violation**
Basic - Single-service articles not stored inverted or protected from contamination.
Observed multiple single service articles not inverted in the establishment.
Basic - Twenty (20) foot-candles of light at least 30 inches from floor not provided in bathroom area.
Observed the right side restroom light not working.
High Priority - Container of medicine improperly stored.
Observed a container of pain medicine and bandages steroid over the make table,
Operator removed them. **Corrected On-Site**
High Priority - Employee washed hands with cold water.
Observed the owner wash his hands with just cold water.
Informed the owner to use hot water and he rewashed his hands. **Corrective Action Taken**
Intermediate - Water with a temperature of least 85 degrees Fahrenheit not provided/shut off at employee handwash sink.
Observed the front hand sink hot water valve broken.
Operator is using the other two fully functioning hand sinks at this time. **Repeat Violation**
